DREDGING

The traditional remediation approach to contaminated sediment is environmental dredging. CETCO can assist you with products and technical assistance for these projects. Whether the project calls for in-situ dewatering sediment or hydraulic dredging, CETCO offers products for soil solidification, sediment dewatering, water treatment, and lining of areas to be used to dewater and to dispose of the contaminated sediment.

Our Sorbond line of products is used increase the solids content of dewatered sediment. Typically, sections of the waterway are dewatered, and then Sorbond is added. Sorbond reacts with the contaminates and prevents their release while lowering the water content of the sediment.

Enviromental dredging applications typically entail the removal of contaminated sediment through an hydraulic dredging process. The contaminated sediment and water are pumped to a dewatering facility. CETCO’s Accofloc product line is used to induce flocculation and speed the dewatering process. Dredged material may then be pumped into geotextile tubes. These tubes allow the sediment to be filtered out and clear water to pass. CETCO’s line of non-woven geotextiles, geocomposite drainage nets and geosynthetic clay liners can be used in the construction of dewatering pads, basins or sediment disposal cells.
