PM-100^® and 199^® Organic Adsorbent Media
GENERAL OVERVIEW

PM-100® is a proprietary granular adsorption media, which is highly effective in removing oils, greases and other high molecular weight low solubility organics. PM-100® is a specially modified sorbent, that has been altered to an organophilic state, making it attractive to organic molecules. Low soluble organics are adsorbed onto the surface of the product, while clean water is passed through. PM-100® is capable of adsorbing up to 60% of its weight in oil and other organic wastes and is more efficient than Granular Activated Carbon (GAC), in the removal of this material. GAC adsorbs organics through a surface area related mechanism, which can be fouled by oil droplets blinding the pore structure. PM-100® adsorbs organics through a series of clay platelets, making it less susceptible to blinding and overall more efficient for removing organic matter.

PM-100 offers a highly efficient post treatment for various industrial waste streams. This product also can be used as a pre-treatment to GAC and increases overall efficiency by preventing surface pores from blinding caused by oils, greases and other less water soluble organics. PM-100® can extend the lifetime of GAC by as much as 500%, resulting in higher carbon sorption capacity and more effective and consistent removal of heavy metals.

PM-100 is designed to be a fixed bed media in a column operation*. The spent material is easily removed and can be classified as non-hazardous, depending on constitutes it has removed and now contains. The high BTU value of PM-100® makes recycling through fuel blending desirable, whether classified as hazardous or non-hazardous.

In addition to PM-100, CETCO offers GAC, and other adsorption media for removal of heavy metals, organic and inorganic matter.
